![]() We didn't manage to save the world and stop The End of Time, we merely managed to delay it until 2021 - as Paul Serene (who was right all along) had always claimed. The End of Time is still coming and Hatch is still on the way to getting his way unless another game is made where we stop him either from within Monarch or against it.Įxactly. Originally posted by Cat Man Tad:I feel like the ending was pretty conclusive if you're listening to everything that was said in the final moments, reading all the optional collectibles, and paying attention to the hints in the cutscenes. So in other words, the timeline Paul jumped forward to, in which he saw "The End" is one in which Jack stopped a Chronon-sick Serene in anyway, and thus the same type of timeline in which we find our Jack, which leads again to the conclusion of a loop and the fact that time is still cemented down a line, with the illusion of free will on both the player and the characters. It leads us to believe said end is still in the works (a good premise for a sequel). The End that Serene planned for was still far in the future, as shown by his white boards and his confusion over why it is happening sooner than he anticipated. It's speculated that the End hadn't occurred (it isn't what we stop in the game). With Jack always "seeing" is brother die and leading him down the path to rescue said brother, which inadvertanly causes that loop to reoccur. Whereas the ending suggests that in a possible sequel we get to choose as Jack.Īs far as I can see, as according to the story, although repeatedly ignored by Joyce, time can't be changed. And this implies that Paul had that power, but was too terrified by the End of Time (btw I'm really disappointed we didn't get to see it). Throughout the game there is disscusion wheter or not it's possible to change the future. Well, the fun fact is that you get to choose the outcome of these junctions as Paul (not Jack) and those are the only moments that you actually play him. So at this stage - it just seems it was purpousely made as there would be sequel. Cmon, last damn frame was exactly the same as every time in the game when there was that junction where you choose future. Anythink can happen and it does hint to sequel. ![]() This ending was horrible.īut it ends very very openly. Originally posted by CKiChrisKutcher:If there wont be a sequel. ![]()
